The 3rd edition of the TazAlGhul Collector Spotlight has finally arrived! Huge thanks to Jonathan @Comic_Drop for taking the time to give a little background on his collection and what he loves. As I always say one of my main reasons for firing up this blog is to bring the collectors, designers and artists closer together and tell some of their incredible stories. I'm extremely stoked to get a spotlight from someone out of the US to see how thing roll internationally. I was lucky enough to meet Jonathan a few months back through IG and had the pleasure of creating his logo. I'll make sure to share some of the variations / process of what we came up with below. Everyone has a different story to tell and I want to hear them all! Now let's get on with it ... Collector Spotlight #3 here we go! The day has finally come! Huge thanks to Jose for being open to becoming the very first member spotlight on TazAlGhul.com - This is one of the main reasons I started firing up the blog. I always had hopes to bring the collector community together through my website and slowly but surely it is starting to happen. My hope is that every member spotlight will link up fellow collectors from all around and tighten the community of designers / artists / collectors and so much more. Since this is the first one I kept it pretty short and sweet and figured I'd let it evolve from there. Therefore, ladies & gentleman I give you member spotlight #1 with Jose Carranza. When did you start collecting? "I started To Really Collect in Mid 2014, but i Already Had The Avengers set Since i picked Them up Before I knew what Pops Were. After I Started Seeing Them Around More they Really Caught my attention with The Sons Of Anarchy Set." T - Was really pumped to hear this answer because what started me into collecting pops was the Sons of Anarchy set! My first purchase ever was Darth Maul & Clay Morrow What inspired you to start your collections? As Stated with the prior Question I Really Got into it when i Started seeing pops of Shows or Characters that I Grew Up Watching. What Also Sucked me In was The NFL pops! I was Able to Collect Every Pop Prior to The New Releases from Last year and this Year. What is your favorite collectible item? Funko POP! - Dorbz - Statues - Etc.? My Favorite Has to be Funko Pops but My Daughters do love the Dorbz and Plushies. I Collect any other figure depending On What I Like and how It Looks. What is your favorite shopping spot? I Used to be an Avid Hunter from Several Retailers. Ex.Target, Walmart, GameStop, Hot Topic but as Of Lately it has been getting Harder and Harder to Aquire Certain Pieces. I've Moved To Shopping at Small Mom & Pop (Pun Intended) Pop/Collectible Shops. Few of my Favs are Pop Den Collectibles in Glendora, Big3Collectibles in Downey. Chrono Toys in El Monte to Name a Few. MARVEL or DC or DGAF? Although I Prefer Marvel I still Have several DC pieces in My Collection. But outside Collecting Marvel for Sure. What is your favorite part of collecting? Over Time It has Gone from a Personal Outlet to Being a Networking and Community Thing and Getting to Know Lots of People That Have the Same hobbies and sometimes you can create some real Tight Nit Friendships. Also Being a Member of Los Locos Funkeros which is a Small Pop Mainly group but also help each other with other collectibles. Where are you from and where has this hobby taken you? I reside In Los Angeles, CA but this hobby has taken Me as Close as San Diego for Comic Con but as Far as Washington For Funko HQ grand opening. Across My Time Collecting I've Managed to Form a Bond With Several individuals that also Leads Outside The Collecting Aspect of it. T- Not gunna lie ... reading this made me super jealous. So awesome! What is your favorite collectible that you own? I Currently Have 2 collectibles That have to be My All Time Favorite which are Both customs. One is a Custom of My Oldest Daughter and the Other is Of My facebooks Group Avatar. I've got to give a huge shoutout to Jose for doing this and diving deep into the spotlight.
