Today's jam goes to Moon Taxi and my man Matisyahu. Anything with Matis in it catches my ear and they for sure nailed something good on this track. Give it a jam.

Today's street art spotlight goes to New York Street artist Buffmonster. All of my street art spotlights go to artists who inspire me to take my creative craft to the next level. Street artists in general are such an amazing breed of artists due to the extreme creativity working on real world structures and the risks they take as they grow into a larger entity or brand. In my time in LA I was lucky enough to actually see some Buffmonster pieces in person. This was actually the first time I had learned of the unreal artist as I skateboarded through the streets of DTLA cruising home from school. From that point on I wal always amazed at all of the pieces i found. The picture above is the theme i remember it being - tons of strawberry scoops per say melting all over a wall. I'm recalling an even from 2011 so it's quite fuzzy but I will forever remember the general creative that was painted. I've been to New York many times and have always wanted to see one of his pieces out in the wild there. He's been at it for over 15 years and worked with many well known artists like Banksy, and is also seen in his oscar nominated documentary Exit Through the Gift Shop. He now releases a large amount of limited-edition collectibles, vinyl figures and other types of toys under the name Stay Melty. Makes sense, right? It's good to see that he's still extremely active in all social channels and is always bringing new art to the table. If you haven't checked him out before it's an absolute must. Click the button below to go to his website and dive deeper into this unreal street artists. Quite the inspiration.

This is for sure a must have. The value of this bad boy im sure will sky rocket just like the previous venompool Pop in a Box exclusive. Click the link below to go straight to the page and reserve your pop! It's official ... Zlatan is headed to the LA Galaxy!! Who thinks he's absolutely going to shred the MLS? Even with his injury struggles while at Man U he still managed to bury 29 goals in 53 appearances. If he can do that in the EPL still I'm sure we can expect a ton of right foot cannons hitting the back of the net. Galaxy championship here we come? He's going to have a dandy ol time in the US.
Today's jam is my favorite song of all time hands down. Both Studio & live versions are killer but the Live takes the cake in my book.
If you haven't ever jammed out to Matisyahu you're for sure missing out. His look might have changed as of late but his jams are just as good. Every show of his I've been too of his are unreal and I highly recommend you see him. Kills it unplugged as well. JAM ON! Thanos was just live 1 minute ago and boy did he go quick. HERE is a direct link to the product page so you are ready the next time he goes live. You can also click the button below to jump straight to the page. Good luck collectors.
Today's spotlight goes to Space Invader! The French Street Artist models his artwork off of 8-bit video games as seen above in the photo I shot while in New York on my pre-bachelor party. This bad boy was in the meat-packing district right outside the Standard beer gardens. Couldn't believe my eyes when I finally was able to see a piece in person. His pieces are made from ceramic tiles and from what I've heard used to be created from bits of a rubiks cube. If anybody knows if thats true or false please let me know because I thought that was quite legendary. See below for a few of my favorite pieces that he has done that I found out in the wild web. To check out his website click HERE or the button below. His work is supreme!
Huge thanks to everyone who has helped the growth of the brand! Super pumped for whats to come this spring and the start of the Al Ghul program in April!! Cheers to 500 and next step is 1,000!
Although he's got a gang of beats that just leave you confused ... this one is damn good. Give it a Jam.
H&M is diving deep into streetart lawsuitAs many of you have heard I'm sure - Street artist REVOK sent in a cease and desist letter after a wall he painted was used in one of H&M's recent ad campaigns. In response to that H&M filed a lawsuit and stated that the artwork is the product of criminal conduct which doesn't protect it by law. After they were quoted saying, "It was never our intention to set a precedent concerning public art... As a result, we are withdrawing the complaint filed in court." It seems that they have not actually retracted their lawsuit and are continuing to fight on. I don't see how a large company like this can even think to use anyone else's artwork without getting consent. You would think they would have a full squad of designers of their own to use in their products. People have different views on what they see as art or graffiti but in the end they knew that this was a popular artist and chose to milk his work for free. They are basically claiming that all streetart is theirs for the taking & re-selling. Be ready to see a lot of stolen artwork on graphic tees and a lot of pissed off artists. photo credit: https://twitter.com/thehatkid/status/974292020398297088 All in all I think it's quite a brutal move. Being an artist myself this grinds my gears.
What do you guys think? Who's taking H&M off their go to shop spot now? Let me know. I vote REVOKE. |
