Today's street art spotlight goes to New York Street artist Buffmonster. All of my street art spotlights go to artists who inspire me to take my creative craft to the next level. Street artists in general are such an amazing breed of artists due to the extreme creativity working on real world structures and the risks they take as they grow into a larger entity or brand. In my time in LA I was lucky enough to actually see some Buffmonster pieces in person. This was actually the first time I had learned of the unreal artist as I skateboarded through the streets of DTLA cruising home from school. From that point on I wal always amazed at all of the pieces i found. The picture above is the theme i remember it being - tons of strawberry scoops per say melting all over a wall. I'm recalling an even from 2011 so it's quite fuzzy but I will forever remember the general creative that was painted. I've been to New York many times and have always wanted to see one of his pieces out in the wild there. He's been at it for over 15 years and worked with many well known artists like Banksy, and is also seen in his oscar nominated documentary Exit Through the Gift Shop. He now releases a large amount of limited-edition collectibles, vinyl figures and other types of toys under the name Stay Melty. Makes sense, right? It's good to see that he's still extremely active in all social channels and is always bringing new art to the table. If you haven't checked him out before it's an absolute must. Click the button below to go to his website and dive deeper into this unreal street artists. Quite the inspiration.
